Pressure Sensitive Labels
The adhesive is what makes the label stick to the surface of the product or packaging. For glue-applied (cut & stack) labels, this process happens as the label is being applied. A pressure-sensitive label is manufactured to have the adhesive already applied to the face stock when you receive your roll or sheet of labels.
Wrap Around Labels
Labels that wrap fully around the object to which they are applied. Wrap around labels extend around the whole of an object and usually have an overlap, meaning that one end of the label will be stuck over the other end. They are usually long and thin, and are commonly used as product labels on products or product packaging; in particular, they are highly popular for use on containers such as bottles and jars.
Shrink Sleeve Labels
Shrink sleeve labels are full-color, 360-degree printed labels that utilize heat in the application process to conform the label to the shape of the container. The labels are typically printed on either plastic or polyester film material and are commonly used on aluminum cans and glass or plastic bottles.
Security Tapes
Security tape (or security label) is a type of adhesive tape used to help reduce shipping losses due to pilfering and theft. It helps reduce tampering or product adulteration. Often it is a pressure sensitive tape or label with special tamper resistant or tamper evident features.
Thermal Transfer Ribbons
Thermal Ribbons are the labels needed for thermal printing. This form of printing uses small heating elements to transfer color pigments onto the labels without the use of traditional ink cartridges. When your thermal printer applies heat it melts a coating of ribbon so that it stays glued to the material.
Thermal Labels
Thermal labels use heat to create an image. Thermal transfer uses a thermal ribbon where heat from the printhead releases the ribbon attaching it to the label surface. Direct thermal images are created when heat from the printhead causes components on the label surface to mix causing them to (usually) turn black.
